Calendar of Events 2017-03-31T22:36:16+00:00

There are four different ways in which you can display the forthcoming events (use the drop-down menu on the right to switch between them): Calendar, Agenda, Stream, and Posterboard.

To see all events and display earlier or later time periods, click the < or > next to the calendar icon on the left.

You can use the Categories and Tags drop-down menu to filter the display and restrict it to certain kinds of events. To de-select categories or tags and show all events, click the crossed circle next to the currently displayed category.

View a whole month at a time: hovering over a date cell that contains an event, you can see a summary - click to follow the link to the full event details.

View a sequential listing of events by date, including their titles, date and time details. By clicking on the plus-sign on the right, you can expand the panel to see the full workshop/event description - at the bottom you find a button saying "Read more ..." - follow that to the dedicated page with all the event details.

View a list of events, including their titles, date and time details as well as an excerpt of the event description and its image - click the title to follow the link to the full event details.

Events are displayed with their date, time, images and titles in large boxes - four across the page - with an excerpt of the event description - click the title to follow the link to the full event details.

None of these previous listings include proposed events - there is a separate page for those in the menu: Proposed Events.

London: bi-monthly Advanced Small Supervision Group for Experienced Therapists @ Oak & Pastor
Oct 10 @ 10:30 – 17:00

This group (maximum 7 participants, meeting once every 2 months on a Tuesday in Archway, North London 10:30 to 17:00) originally organised by Eamonn Marshall, has been running for 3 years now. From September 2017 there are two more places available in this group, which is open to experienced therapists only from across the modalities. All of the current participants work also as supervisors, tutors or teachers alongside their private practice and share a perspective that draws from both humanistic and psychoanalytic traditions. Please enquire soon if you are interested in joining.

This was the initial invitation from Eamonn : "I am canvassing interest from those who might want to form a London-based bi-monthly supervision/CPD group provisionally starting in October 2014. The group leader will be Michael Soth who for many years was Training Director at The Chiron Centre for Body Psychotherapy, and who has been teaching and running integrative and embodiment-oriented CPD for 20 years.

I participated in Michael's Oxford CPD group for two years and have just decided not to continue this coming autumn due to the expense and effort of travelling up to Oxford from South East London. However, Michael is willing to establish a similar group in London if there is enough interest, and I am obviously keen for that to happen.

Michael has spent much of his career thinking about and formulating what an integrated therapeutic approach might actually look like, and thinking through the inherent difficulties in bringing together theories that seem to be fundamentally incompatible. This is a project that I have been pursuing myself over the last decade or more. For Michael's full biography, in his own words, please see here.

The group will comprise no more than 7 practitioners, and is intended for those with considerable post-qualification experience (10+ years). A gender balance will be actively sought. You should have a curiosity and interest in therapeutic approaches other than your own, and be comfortable with a group supervision format. There will be an emphasis on experiential learning through role play and two-chair work, which naturally opens up the opportunity to discuss therapeutic perspectives, theory and practice, and, significantly, to learn about Michael's highly nuanced take on thinking (and working) across therapeutic divides. As with all supervisory/learning work, there is an overlap between personal and professional development, and Michael and the group will work to find a good balance between the two.

Michael will make all decisions on the eventual membership of the group."
