Psychotherapy: the ‘Relating Cure’ – Relating to the Psychosomatic Symptom (2005)2017-04-07T02:54:49+00:00

Project Description

This article was written as a response to some interview questions by Penny Gray, the editor of the Healthcare Counselling & Psychotherapy Journal. It is primarily addressed to counsellors working in the NHS, but it also covers wider questions regarding the bodymind and psychosomatic aspects of counselling. It clarifies the bodymind connection and what we might mean by 'psychosomatic', addresses the paradigm clash between the 'medical model' and counselling, and briefly mentions my suggestion concerning the 'eight ways of relating to the symptom'.
