Project Description
This was an invited response to a case presentation by Maggie Turp, a psychodynamic therapist who has initiated a consideration of the body and of the importance of wellbeing in psychoanalytic circles. Whilst this must be a worthwhile project and her case study shows dedicated and insightful therapeutic work, I argue that it implies very different notions of 'working with the body' than we would formulate from within the Body Psychotherapy tradition. In the process of critiquing Turp's paper, I spell out some criteria and ingredients of what we might mean by 'working with the body'.
